L-3 STRATIS is looking for a

NMCC Tech Control Technician

(Voice Data Communications Engineer – Journeyman)

to

support a team of professionals responsible for the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR) Information Technology support to the US Air Force and the

National Military Command Center (NMCC)

at

the Pentagon, multiple sites in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the DC region. *** Contingent upon Contract Award ***

Functional Responsibility:
This individual works in Technical Control supporting circuit actions and operations for circuits physically located and passing through the High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Patch and Test facility (PTF) in the Pentagon. The individual performs the following types of actions under supervision: circuit installation, activation, changes, deactivations, fault isolation, restoration, quality control testing, trend analysis, status reporting, and administrative duties to maintain circuit operational status in support of the NMCC, DoD, and the White House.

This work requires 24/7/365 support and employees must be willing to work shift rotations. The individual will train and oversee junior personnel to operate, monitor, manage, maintain, install and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices and services. Candidate must be able to analyze capabilities and performance, identify problems, take corrective action, and fabricate cable assemblies.

Individual may create and document new methods supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures. Consults with support teams, help desks, customers and other technical staff in the resolution of problems, coordinates and performs operation and/or maintenance activities for network circuits, identifies recurring problems and recommends steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems.

This individual will perform cryptographic device configuration, operation, and maintenance as required.

Qualifications

Specific Requirements:
Top Secret clearance

2+ Years of experience working in a NIC, NOC or related area

BIC SI Certification or 1+ year documented cable fabrication experience

Supervisory and training experience a plus

Ability to work with and communicate clearly with senior military and civilian personnel

BS/BA or an additional 2+ years of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high paced environment
  • Prior military or civil service a plus
  • Demonstrated team player attitude
