This position is located at the Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio
The candidate will manage general neurology outpatient and inpatient settings. The candidate must have expertise in managing sleep disorders and reading sleep studies. The candidate will also teach Wright State medical students and residents. Applicant must be board eligible/board certified in Neurology.
Preferred: Sleep Medicine fellowship or its equivalent.
a. Citizenship. Citizen of the United States . (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g, this part.)
b. Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. (See Education section for additional information).
c. Licensure and Registration
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States , or in the District of Columbia . The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure.
d. English Language Proficiency. Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).

The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
(4) For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is required except as provided in M-8, part II, chapter 1.
