SoloHealth®, a leading healthcare technology company, provides consumers free and convenient access to healthcare by developing and deploying interactive health and wellness kiosks. The kiosks, located in high-traffic retail locations, help to empower consumers about their health through awareness and education, which leads to prevention and lower healthcare costs. These kiosks generate data stored on secured servers within a MYSQL database. SoloHealth is looking for a Senior Database & System Administrator to join our product team and support and maintain our databases and servers. The Senior Database and System Administrator (SDBA) is responsible for supporting all database needs of new product development, operations, and business teams. The SDBA will install, upgrade, maintain, monitor, backup, and optimize production MySQL and non-production MySQL, Oracle and Tableau databases and install, upgrade, maintain, and monitor these databases to support “near-real-time” data replication.The SDBA will also be responsible for the creation of internally used reports based on the data maintained within the databases.
MySQL database administration tasks:
Database monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and backup/recovery
Perform periodic testing of the database backup and recovery plan
Manage schema changes and implementations
Install and maintain database products, including patch application and upgrade of environments
Work closely with product team to coordinate activities, resolve development and maintenance issues, and perform application tuning
Linux and Windows Server administration:
Heavy focus on Linux environment administration
Develop and execute back-up and recovery procedures
Install and maintain products, including patch application and upgrade of environments
Reporting of data for internal consumption
Generate internally used reports and automate when necessary
Ensure data is available (properly translated) for analysis by Marketing team
Implement and maintain multiple database environments, including logical/physical design and modeling
Minimum 6 years of Database Administration experience
Minimum 4 years MySQL Server DBA experience
Minimum 4 years of System Administration experience
Undergraduate College Degree in Computer Technology or related field required.
Experience in Linux and Windows based environments
General hardware/network knowledge.
Basic scripting in one or more of PHP, Perl, Python, BASH, or C
Is highly organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time, multi-task and prioritize efficiently.
Must be proactive and responsive with the ability to escalate issues appropriately
Nice to have: VMware vSphere Hypervsor (ESXi) and experience with NoSQL data stores and data warehouses
Network security knowledge, a plus
