Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Twelve to fifteen years in related applications experience (systems analysis, appropriate programming language, applications design and implementation). Requires detailed knowledge of information systems infrastructure and two or more areas of specialty in terms of theories and practices to serve as the resource or educator to other practitioners in the specialty field.
Prefer experience with administering systems across multiple platforms including systems updates, federal regulations, and experience supporting ERP solutions.
Primary Job Functions
Provide expert technical leadership and support to IS and PHS. Plan and manage the implementation, integration, and performance of new application software to include interfaces with/to: hardware platforms, communications networks, related systems software, and/or database management systems. Work independently to provide technical, business analysis, and/or project leadership in developing, implementing and maintaining computer applications systems.
Performs technical strategic planning for areas of specialty.
Acts as key agent in the transfer of new technology to other IS and PHS organizations and lead in the application of technology to enable PHS strategies.
Leads research, review and evaluation of new software, applicable hardware, communications, and system software technologies, making recommendations to management as to the potential value.
Manages the implementation of new software applications in regard to: hardware platforms, communications networks, systems software, and/or environmental support equipment.
Builds and maintains customer and vendor relationships.
Provides expert technical support by diagnosing and resolving complex problems in the areas of specialty and guiding technical staff.
