High School/GED
Responsible for the supervision for Saint Alphonsus Nampa North housekeeping processes in accordance with hospital/department policies/procedures/infection control guidelines and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.

Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Facilities Services Department. Investigates delays, solves problems, and ensures timely completion of the work. Maintains and repairs H.V.A.C. controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas. Responsible for supporting Security at Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza.

Performs urgent corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required. Performs preventative maintenance and repair on all patient room related furnishings, beds, plumbing fixtures, TV’s, medical gas outlets, BP cuffs, nurse call systems and other duties as required. As required, assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspects and test equipment/systems.
Performs preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls. Assists in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances and lighting systems as required.
Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system. Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material). Reads blueprints, interprets instructions, and prepares specifications. Responds to emergency calls in an expedient manner. Performs work of housekeepers and floor techs as necessary.

High School graduate or equivalent. Healthcare related mechanical work is preferred. Any equivalent combination of training and experience is acceptable.

Valid Idaho State Drivers License

Ability to understand and be capable of carrying out routine duties or assignments. Possess good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, equipment operation infection control and chemical agents. Must be capable of performing supervisory functions. Ability to push and pull carts. Be knowledgeable of the Universal Precautions, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standards and Department Safety Standards. Must possess knowledge of how to apply good body mechanics to avoid injury. Ability to clearly exchange information, both verbal and written, in English. Typing ability is an asset.
