In this position, the MRI Technologist is responsible for performing patient safety assessments prior to and during the MRI procedure, preparing the room and the patient for the procedure and performing a variety of imaging procedures, evaluating the quality of exam and performing image management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
MRI Procedures Responsible for the operation of all MRI equipment including, but not limited to, archiving devices, GE Signa and LXi scanner, patient monitoring equipment and PACS components-Radworks Responsible for performing daily quality improvement checks on designated equipment, QI logs, service records, etc. Performs a variety of imaging procedures, evaluates the quality of exam and performs image management Provides education to patient and family and communicates with the patient, family and other healthcareworkers.
Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements Requirements are
representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position Completion of AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program ARRT registered Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire MRI experience preferred Ability to successfully and independantly operate the MRI equipment within 6 mos. of on-site training. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment Experience in understanding and usage of computers as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position
