Essential functions of a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting:
A Consultant at Deloitte functions as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology solutions to meet clients' business needs. A Consultant gains exposure to multiple industries while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by Deloitte Consulting LLP. Responsibilities include defining systems strategy, developing system requirements, designing, prototyping, and testing custom technology solutions, and supporting system implementation.
Consultants are required to have:
2 years of relevant consulting or industry experience A willingness to travel up to 25% of the time A Bachelor's Degree Must be eligible to obtain US government security clearance Software development experience using Java, Microsoft.net or C++ languages
In addition, successful Consultants will have the following preferred background:
Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) Understanding and experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Experience with use case modeling Experience in software development to a common coding, version control and architectural standard Knowledgeable in software quality concepts such documenting source code and software language specific code quality practices Understanding of software development team management support tools such as JIRA, ANT or similar task, issues and software build tools Knowledgeable in concepts of Continuous Integration (automated team software building, management and verification tools to maintain quality and team progress) Experience in applied unit testing Experience writing database access code Understanding of system architecture and component-based architecture and design Familiarity with SOA, portal, J2EE, and Microsoft technologies, such as: Portals/Portlets (i.e. WebSphere Portal, WebLogic Portal) Rules Engines (i.e. iLog, Haley, TIBCO Business Works) Content Management (i.e. Documentum, Vignette, SharePoint) Programming Structures (i.e. .NET, J2EE, XML, Struts) Business Process Modeling (BPM) Tools (i.e. Oracle, Eclipse, System Architect) Cloud Computing Integration (i.e. Amazon, Google, HP) Server Integrations (i.e. WebSphere, HP, Sun) Operating environments (UNIX, AIX, Solaris, AIX, Windows) Applied IDE (integrated development environment) experience in either; Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, iOS SDK or other Java, Microsoft.net or mobile development platform
