Sr. Manager- Transaction Taxes

Primary Responsibilities
•Review complex telecommunication, sales, use, surcharge, gross receipts and excise tax returns for compliance and audit documentation.
•Configuration of billing modules and product mapping of SKU’s to tax codes
•Prepare or review related payment requests.
•Maintain and reconcile journal entries for the accurate recording of tax liabilities.
•Create and/or revise spreadsheets and processes to satisfy auditor's requests.
•Undertake recurring and special projects including utilization of support personnel as needed.
•Act as a Tax Department subject matter expert/project point person on intra/inter departmental projects or initiatives.
•Perform tax research on complex telecommunications tax issues.
•Prepare and provide presentations on technical tax issues to intra/inter departmental personnel.
Required skills:
Accounting degree or equivalent experience in tax compliance/general accounting strongly desired.
•Strong knowledge of tax laws with the ability to research the most complex tax issues.
•Telecommunication industry experience strongly preferred.
•Strong knowledge of systems (SAP, Vertex).
•Ability to communicate and interact effectively with key internal and external personnel.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to complete assigned tasks without supervision.
•Identify problems/issues and follow-up with the proper resolution.
•Strong knowledge of desktop software packages including Word, Excel and Access
•Ability to work simultaneously on numerous projects.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Detail oriented.
•Manage, coach and train tax staff/team.
