Post-doctoral Research Associate for Nanoparticle Synthesis and Functionalization for Drug Delivery

A postdoctoral position is available to develop receptor-targeted theranostic nanoparticles for drug delivery and monitoring therapeutic response in cancer. We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows with extensive knowledge and experience in medicinal chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry. The candidate will be involved in designing and synthesizing small molecules that target proteins as potential anti-cancer agents with a major focus on synthesis of compounds targeting protein-protein interactions relevant to cancer.

The successful candidate must be independent in designing synthetic routes, solving challenging synthetic problems, efficient in synthesizing targeted molecules, analyzing results and PD/PK data to improve drug-like properties of synthesized compounds. The applicant needs to be experienced in using HPLC , NMR and MS for organic chemistry applications. Experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis, peptide purification and analysis by mass spectrometry required. Experience in bioconjugation of peptides to nanoparticles and/or proteins as well as stability assessment highly suggested.

Successful candidates will be a part of an interdisciplinary team whose research is focused on different stages of pre-clinical development, including biochemical studies, medicinal chemistry, structural biology, molecular modeling, cell-based experiments and animal studies.

Applicant must have PhD in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry or related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
