PURPOSEThe Entry level Implementation Lab Engineer is a highly motivated worker whose primary role is the benching and testing of various applications & IP devices in our centralized staging facility. They are the principle technical resource responsible for the pre-deployment process of our solutions. The role requires a strong working relationship with the various application engineers & field resources to ensure consistent and successful deployments. This position is transactional in nature with primary focus on the configuring of different devices/servers, licensing activation, and establishing remote connecting.

On the job training is available for qualified candidatesESSENTIAL DUTIESThe ILE will be responsible for the duties:· Work with the SPS teams to deliver the staging requirements for all requests including projects and repairs.· Learn the SPS Implementation processes and procedures. Understand the inter-dependencies between the staging process and Application Engineering’s process.· Closely monitor and manage new staging requests· Effectively communicate status to the various teams. Quickly identify and report any incomplete requests.· Un-box, install and secure all server/IP hardware in staging racks.· Make all necessary connects to the staging network and access devices· Load and configure operating systems and applications based on the provided design specifications.· Process, activate and load all licensing and SAL certificates· Create and document all required credentials for customers and SPS· Established and test remote access for application engineer · De-install and re-box all hardware upon final configuration and notify shipping department. POSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation:Technical school two or four year degree in IT administration, Computer Science and/or Network preferred but not mandatory.

Product training and certifications are preferred. Networking experience preferred; CCNA, CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalents WORK EXPERIENCEMinimum of 2-4 years experience in a comparable role supporting PC’s and server based applications in the data networking or IT arena. IT AdministrationServer ConfigurationsTechnical Competencies:· Computer literacy; proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.· Understanding of IP addressing schemes and VLAN designs.· Knowledge and proficiency in using internal network protocols including; SSH, Telnet, SSL, VPN, SMPT, SMNP, FTP, and HTTP. · Proficiency in downloading and installing software, firmware, and service patches to communications products; familiarity with WS_FTP or equivalent.Overall knowledge of Avaya S8xxx platform and Communication Manager.

Strong knowledge of servers and associated configuration requirements.Strong understanding of networking requirements such as: IP addressing, subnets, default gateways, etcGeneral understanding of VOIP technology Knowledge in the AVAYA Enterprise suite of products, adjuncts and applications Experience with configuration of data switches and routers; knowledge of Cisco, Avaya, Extreme products Personal Competencies:· Ability to work well in a processed based environmentStrong verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical personnel and customers. Occasionally lifts and moves 10-35 pounds · Must be able to occasionally reach and crawl to access hardware, network and/or computer connections
