Nelson & Associates is currently seeking a Senior Collector for a Vacaville client. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity in the banking/financial industry.
Compensation: Up to $20.00 per hour
Position Summary:
The Senior Collector will contact members with delinquent accounts via phone and mail to make arrangements for repayment of obligation. The Senior Collector acts as a resource to other Collectors, handles escalated calls and assists with supervisory responsibilities. Additionally, the Senior Collector may handle specific portfolio i.e. Bankruptcy, Repossessions, etc.
Qualifications:
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Comprehensive knowledge of Fair Debt Collections Practices Act
Advanced collection techniques for all types of loans
Strong, professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated negotiation skills to include the ability to handle difficult calls with tact and diplomacy
Communicates professionally and effectively with all levels of staff
Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment and complete assigned tasks within strict timeframes
Strong organizational skills
Understands the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and ensures compliance through monitoring and reporting of member activity as appropriate
Minimum of three years of experience in all levels of collections
