LifeScan, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting a Sr. Reliability & Project Engineer for the facility located in Aguadilla.
The Sr. Reliability & Project Engineer leads the Equipment Reliability Program, and Maintenance System Improvement efforts. Responsible for managing and optimizing the sites Reliability System/Process (Preventive, Predictive and Corrective) and use maintenance key performance indicators (KPI) metrics and equipment historical data analysis to improve the equipment reliability. Responsible and accountable for cost improvement, process improvement, energy reduction strategies and capital projects related to utilities and facilities. Leads and implement continuous improvement process using equipment reliability improvement methodologies including Process Excellence tools (ME2), RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), CBM (Conditioned Base Maintenance). Responsible of identifying, design and propose new projects for energy improvement in the facilities/ utilities areas, equipment or systems replacements, facilities expansions, new constructions. Establishes user requirements, prepare business cases for the projects. Monitors site's Maintenance System to maximize equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs. Provides feedback to optimize the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as the central reliability measurement tool by performing data collection. Optimize the Spare Parts inventory system to ensure that the inventory supports site reliability efforts. Gathers, examines and updates basic reliability data from various sources (CMMS, FMECA's) and correlate the data for analysis using well defined engineering techniques/principles/procedures to avoid future failures. Supports the design, implementation and analysis of data from the Predictive Maintenance Program to reduce maintenance cost. Leads criticality assessment initiative and revisions. Develop and maintain reliability metrics. Prepare and submit Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs). Manage the execution of assigned projects, meetings, resources, and budget requirements, prepare project charters. Oversee the execution of the commissioning effort and support the planning, execution and delivery of the commissioning activities for all systems defined in the scope of the project. Responsible of the commissioning schedule. Participate as required in any J&J Puerto Rico Campus initiative. Works with operations, maintenance and engineering to support site equipment reliability improvement efforts.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required, BSME or BSEE is highly preferred. A Master's Degree will be a plus. A minimum of five (5) years of related experience in Healthcare environment is required. Working experience with the maintenance of manufacturing areas is required. Project engineering capacity with experience reading shop drawings and computer-aided designs (CAD) is required. Previous capital project management experience is required. Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance Technologies such as Vibration Analysis, Infrared Analysis, Tribology, Laser Alignment, Ultrasound. PR Engineers in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing. Six Sigma, Project Management and/or Reliability Engineer Certifications are highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Ability to establish positive interpersonal relations and interact with people effectively and work effectively under time pressure. Good communication, leadership and, time and project management skills. Requires initiative, creativity and assertiveness abilities. Must be able to work under pressure achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts.
