MILSTAR Terminal Maintenance Specialist-01130951
Maintain and install cryptographic and associated equipment, including cables and adaptors into Air Force MILSTAR terminals and MILTSTAR Air Force Terminal Remoting Systems (MAFTRS) at various locations worldwide. Manage, set up, check out, and test newly installed equipment over active services using Baseband equipment, terminal operator consoles and equipment, Bit Error Rate Testers, or similar equipment and techniques to ensure proper operation of the system and defined site capabilities are established. Transfer designated MILSTAR communications architecture to MILSTAR Discrete Services (MDS) at sensor sites, correlation centers, and MILSTAR capable forward users. Coordinate with Space and Missile Systems Center and MILSATCOM Systems Directorate (SMC/MCL), operational sites, and other agencies as directed to ensure readiness to conduct installations and testing, including submission of authorized service interruptions (ASIs) and satellite access requests and authorizations (SARs/SAAs). Troubleshoot and repair anomalies encountered and complete system upgrades expeditiously, return sites to operational configurations and status. Document and provide clear and accurate written reports on baseline configurations, test configurations, and final configurations, including equipment serial numbers, cable runs locations, cryptographic software version and settings, terminal software version and settings, elevation drawings, and floor plans. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
-4+ years of experience with MILSATCOM system maintenance, operations, and technical data
-Experience with MILSTAR Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), Time Distribution Subsystem Preprocessor (TDSPP), MILSTAR Messaging Application (MMA), Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable tactical-Terminal (SMART-T) or Single Channel Anti-jam Man Portable (SCAMP) terminal
-Experience with MILSTAR networks supporting the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA), Very Survivable Data network (VSDN), and Sensor Survivable Data network (SSDN)
-Experience with COMSEC equipment and procedures, including configuring, keying, and operating KIV-7M and KG 84 devices
-Experience with communications and electronics maintenance and test equipment including, millimeters and Bit Error Rate Testers
-Experience with communications and electronics maintenance and test equipment, including, millimeters and Bit Error Rate Testers
-Ability to write clear and accurate field reports and technical reports, and document site configurations, elevation drawings, and discrepancies-DoD
-Top Secret security clearance
-Experience with Test and Evaluation (T&E) including space, MILSATCOM, software, Developmental Test, or Operational Test
-Experience with Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Microsoft Project
-Knowledge of MILSATCOM software and space system operational guidance and policies
-AS or AS degree in MILSATCOM technologies
