Description

Provide industry leading service while assisting with and supporting all aspects of sales, service and transaction activities in the branch. Must adhere to applicable regulations, internal controls, policies, procedures and the SunTrust Code of Conduct.

Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities accurately and efficiently according to established processes and guidelines during the course of a business day including but not limited to:

Cash handling

Deposits and withdrawals

Payments and transfers

Consignment item sales

Lobby management

Develop and expand new client relationships through:
Utilizing resources to conduct consultative conversations and provide financial solutions that meet clients needs across all product and service lines - not limited to deposit and credit products

Identifying and making appropriate referrals to other lines of business

Primary focus is assisting with client transaction and service needs with additional activities related to sales opportunities, based on the needs of the branch.

Time spent in various aspects of this role will vary depending upon branch traffic and needs and the role of other teammates in the branch. Mix of work will include transaction processing, client servicing and sales. Proportion of time spent on each will vary day to day and market to market.

Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities during the course of a business day; possesses skill, ability and aptitude to deliver industry-leading service, perform routine client maintenance requests, problem resolution and basic sales functions as well as basic teller transactions. Commit to advancing knowledge of sales techniques and product knowledge to better serve personal and business clients. Contributions made to meeting and exceeding client service and branch sales goals by offering and selling products and services and developing, expanding and retaining relationships. Consistently follows defined procedures for bank operations and client service behaviors that contribute to delivering an extraordinary client interaction.

Knowledge of risk management and loss prevention. Supervision and/or assistance needed with more complex platform tasks.

Qualifications

Client Service Specialist 1

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year experience including some or all of the following: service, sales, cash handling or payment transaction experience. Ability to demonstrate knowledge, skills and/or expertise related to financial products and/or services. Basic math and numeric sequencing aptitude. Willing and able to follow instructions and work under established guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
College level courses. Two years experience in a client service and/or financial sales role. Additional experience may include combined work as a Teller and/or FSR at SunTrust Bank or comparable role at another financial institution, or completion of Core and Intermediate STU FSR and Teller Curriculum Training. Strong probing and listening skills to uncover client needs. Ability to respond in a professional manner and provide a high level of service quality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of consumer and business lending solutions as well as deposit products. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.

Client Service Specialist 2

Basic Qualifications

: High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated consistency in meeting sales goals through two years of financial service or sales experience, two years retail sales experience or sales experience in a consumer or small business environment. Cash handling or payment transaction experience required. Knowledge of branch operations, policies and procedures. Basic math and numeric sequencing aptitude. Willing and able to follow instructions and work under established guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

: College level courses with an emphasis on business, finance or accounting. Three years experience in a client service and/or financial sales experience role with cash handling or payment transaction experience. Additional experiences may include combined work as a Teller and/or FSR at SunTrust Bank or comparable role at another financial institution, or completion of Core, Intermediate and Advanced STU FSR and Teller Curriculum Training. Strong probing and listening skills to uncover client needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
