The following explains the job responsibilities and expectations for all employees who are classified in this job family. The Construction Supervisors job family is responsible for organizing, directing, supervising and coordinating construction activities at a job site. Responsibilities include: work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records. Responsible for the satisfactory conduct of all construction operations and task accomplishment in an economical, efficient and timely manner on a project. Monitors craft performance relative to budget, schedules and deadlines. Implements and enforces work rules. Requisitions tools, materials and equipment in accordance with established procedures and necessary lead times. Prepares and reviews plans, specifications, drawings and schedules to determine work phases and work priorities. Determines and recommends solutions to construction and architectural discrepancies. Monitors manpower utilization, effectiveness and productivity. Facilitates the efficient use of personnel and equipment. Coordinates movement and use of equipment and supplies with procurement. Inspects field work to evaluate construction progress, efficiency of operation and cost control. Responsible for overall project workmanship and goal attainment. Construction Supervisors who are functioning in a quality role on a construction management project should use this classification with a quality discipline

In addition to Level 1 competencies, manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage business support, technical or production staff
Has accountability for managing financial resources
Provides technical guidance to employees
Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies
Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines
Applies technical and/o9r managerial expertise to improve effectiveness and provide guidance to employees in own area
Anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions
Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area
Manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly
Resolves operational, customer, employee or technical problems that impact the effectiveness of own area
Develops plans and coordinates resources to meet operational objectives within own area
Explains difficult concepts and persuades others to adopt a point of view
Manages the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching. Typically has 2-10 years relevant experience

Additional Details:
Must have:
10 years construction experience.
5 years experience with management of field crews.
Computer skills (MS Office Package).
Good Communication skills.
Good scheduling and orgnaization skills
Valid driver's license.

Good to have Not Required:
Mechanical and Civil Fuels construction experience.
USACE quality control training.
