The Gordonsville Power Station is a 2X1 240-megawatt combined cycle facility located in Gordonsville, Virginia. The facility consists of General Electric 7EA dual-fuel turbines, HRSG's and steam turbines.
The Plant Administrator is responsible for the administrative functions of the plant, and will serve as the back up to the ES&H duties of the Plant Engineer. The Plant Administrator provides analysis, planning, scheduling and coordination of administrative duties to ensure timely completion of payroll, general accounting and office procedures. The Plant Administrator administers Human Resources policies and procedures at the plant.
Assemble all payroll time cards, prepare data for submittal of the bimonthly time reports and verify that all time is charged against the proper budget charge numbers.
Prepare and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable in accordance with the Owners accounting procedures at the direction of the Plant Manager.
Make Service Entries for Service Purchase Orders in SAP, code invoices received with Work Order Numbers and WBS or G/L numbers as required. Reconcile the monthly P-Card statements in accordance with NAES and Dominion policies. Act as the backup to the Business Analyst II when processing monthly reporting data to the Owners. Provide periodic financial statements, reconciliations and accruals as appropriate and/or requested by the customer.
Provide customer with accurate and timely invoices, inventory summaries, cash requirements, budget variance reports and other requirements as requested by customer.
The Plant Administrator will be a member of the Safety Committee and participate in all ES&H training and activities plant personnel are subject to.
Assist in plant budget preparation and monitoring.
Administer procedures for inventory maintenance and physical inventory.
Responsible for benefits administration of plant personnel in accordance with Corporate Human Resources requirements.
Administer the Fitness For Duty program in accordance with policy.
Maintain accurate records of employee training, safety, and workers' compensation claims and the record keeping for the Equal Employment Opportunity program at the plant.
Assist with screening, hiring, and re-location of plant personnel.
Assist with reception, scheduling and planning meetings, and planning for events held both in and outside of the plant.
Complete other tasks as requested by the Plant Manager.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Plant Administrator operates from established and well known procedures, performing duties independently under general direction and minimum supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating procedures and guidelines. The position encounters new and varied work situations, involving a moderate degree of complexity.
The Plant Administrator must effectively communicate information to the Plant Manager and the supervisory staff relative to the administrative processes, and provide suggestions for plant improvement. The Plant Administrator must ensure duties are performed in such a way to result in an optimum cost-benefit ratio.
The Plant Administrator must effectively communicate information to customer representatives relative to budgetary, accounting and inventory processes.
All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customers' needs are being met.
The Plant Administrator reports to the Plant Manager and may supervise subordinate administrative personnel. The Plant Administrator works with other plant supervisors/managers as needed in the daily operation of the plant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires extended working hours with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required. Some work may be performed on industrial site requiring protective clothing and equipment.
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes pre/post employment physical examinations and drug screening and post employment random drug screening. There are several smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. Five years office Administrative experience, with a strong emphasis in Human Resources, general accounting and payroll, including two years experience as a supervisor of accounting and administrative personnel is desired. Strong computer skills, to include word processing and spread sheet programs required. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills required. Environmental Safety and Health experience is a must
