As a Manager of Database Administration , you’ll act as one of Enova’s heavy hitters, managing a small team of four to five database administrators while serving as liaison to the business for your team. Your responsibilities will include high-level design of large systems, delivering large projects to stakeholders, providing feedback, mentorship, and career path advice to your team, building team chemistry, and more. You will be expected to educate developers on solid principles through design and code reviews, scrum meetings, etc. Additionally, your projects will vary greatly, requiring regular interaction with cross-functional teams. Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a technical management role and 5 years professional technical experience
Proven ability or experience in growing, developing, forming and leading a team of at least 4.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Managed a project or team at a public-facing web application company.
Has recently (or still does) written code. Formerly, a software developer.
Understands the importance of working with Stake Holders (ie the Biz).
Self-starter with a passion for databases.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to allocate resources, manage deadlines, and drive projects to successful completion
Experience with at least 1 of the following: Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL or Debian Linux
Understanding of SQL and database design
Experience managing an on call 24×7 production based environment
