Overview :
Position to be filled January 2012

SUMMARY PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION : To provide a coordinated community outreach and assessment service for the Program. To coordinate the education and community relations activities of the treatment staff. To develop strategies that result in a positive community image and assist the facility in meeting its goals.

REPORTS TO : Director of Business Development

Qualifications :
EDUCATION : Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field desired. State Licensure as Professional Social Worker / Counselor or Registered Nurse preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Knowledge of or experience in mental health or chemical dependency fields; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to adapt to workload demands and set priorities; positive, professional presentation; ability to build rapport quickly and develop working relationships; ability to work cooperatively with the program staff; good communication and organizational skills. Clinical experience sufficient to perform required assessment services. Requires access to transportation.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the behavioral health field.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Moderate physical activity. Will be located in and around the Program and the Hospital. Frequent travel within a radius of 50 miles with occasional travel beyond is required with the employee providing his/her own transportation. Some hazard potential from possibility of physically acting out
behavior of patient and health related communicable disease.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB :
Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations such as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner; must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic; ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions.
