Mail Clerk I
The Claims Department of Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company is looking for a Mail Clerk I. This position is primarily focused on the sorting and prepping of mail. Mail received for off-site departments is packed for shipment to the correct location. The mail that remains on-site is prepped and distributed. The Mail Clerk assists others in the department as needed and communicates regularly and proactively with the Department Manager.
Primary duties & responsibilities consist of:
Sorts and distributes incoming mail by company and department
Delivers premium payments to the Premium Accounting Department
Opens and reviews correspondence to determine the correct department
Prepares outgoing mail for pick up
Locates policy numbers for returned mail post cards
Stuffs and labels envelopes
Sends letters requesting information from the Insured
Prepares mail count reports and individual production reports for management
Retrieves claims files as requested and recycles old claim files per company policy
Maintain the file room through rotation of the newest claims, storage of older claims, and recycling dated information
Other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Must be able to multi-task, frequently moving back and forth between duties.
Must meet minimum production standards set by the department manager
Education & Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
PC/Windows literate with working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Data entry and 10-key skills by touch and sight.
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit, walk and stand for extended lengths of time.
7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. or 7:30am-4:00pm
Overtime as needed
