Under the direct supervision of the staff nurse, assumes responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN such as oral suctioning, oxygen setup, trach care, foley catheter care, venipuncture, pulse oximetry setup, ostomy care, specimen collection and EKGs. Must successfully complete an in-house PCT training program. Demonstrates an awareness of patient and personal safety. Obtains/records vitals, weight, inputs and outputs.
Assists with morgue care and transport as needed. May perform unit secretary duties as the need arises. Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED required.
