Software Engineer (Intern)
Job Description: Responsibilities may be quite diverse of an exempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
Utilize independent judgment in the maintenance and feature development of the networking system for the Lustre distributed file system. Responsible for the architecture, design and development of the next generation of HPC storage. Perform design, development, testing, and analysis of software applications. Design, develop, and utilize productivity enhancement layout tools. Duties may include application design, writing of code, programming, as well as development and execution of testing and debugging routines.
Candidates must have a Computer Science education, be in a Comp Sci PhD program, and have some familiarity with filesystems and storage technologies. Some relevant experience will be advantageous.

The High Performance Data Division (formerly Whamcloud) builds a world class parallel file system called Lustre for High Performance Computing applications. Lustre runs on the fastest computers in the world. Lustre is gaining adoption in Enterprise HPC markets, as well as new markets such as Cloud and Big Data. This manager will be tasked to continue Lustre leadership in HPC applications. This manager can work from anywhere (the Lustre engineering team is distributed around the world).
