Reporting to the Sr, Director, Corporate Business Performance Management (BPM), this role is part of the Direct Energy Corporate Finance team with core responsibilities that include planning, decision support and business performance management.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, professional with a proven ability to partner with key stakeholders, develop and implement solutions to business requirements in an effective and efficient manner while meeting the on-going needs of senior management and his or her team. The ideal candidate has had prior shared service experience or similar experience related to planning, reporting and decision support.
Lead the development for the annual planning, latest estimate and reporting across the business specifically as it relates to DE Corporate and Shared Service groups, and ensure consistency with critical success factors, making recommendations to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the process
Develop and implement processes that include monthly analysis and reviews with key stakeholders, budget holders and Finance leads across Direct Energy
Lead, in conjunction with key stakeholders, the development of standards for allocations reporting and related items including the development of new value add benchmarks, reporting and planning processes while balancing both efficiency with business needs and available resources.
Lead, in conjunction with key stakeholders, process improvements by liaising with business partners to optimize and enhance the planning, reporting and forecasting capabilities of Direct Energy, and ensuring the accuracy of the same in SAP; ensures consistency with Direct Energy strategic objectives
Lead the production, monitoring and reporting of key performance measures to identify risk and opportunities
Performs ad-hoc analysis as requested including variance analyses.
Act as a key member of the Corporate BPM leadership team providing insight and input to achieve the DE Corp BPM agenda
Provide management oversight mentorship, development and growth opportunities to direct report(s) and broader team
Skills and Qualifications:
Energy industry experience a plus but not a requirement
CFA, CPA or MBA is preferred, accounting designation, 10 years of progressive financial and operational experience
Proficient in SAP BPC/BOBJ/ BI & ECC, MS PowerPoint and Excel
Proficient in financial model building, has experience in developing policy, implementing governance structures & controls
Good team building skills and has a proven track record of leading teams
Strong analytical skills, including ability to structure and prepare analysis to support and lead decision-making with senior management as well as providing qualitative and quantitative analysis of business situations.
Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills and ability to interact with multiple departments and senior management
Ability to prioritize time and work on multiple tasks with ongoing deadlines
Ability to work with different groups and levels across the organization to bring about consensus and build a successful team supporting the business
