INVISTA operates with high compliance standards and expectations. We are seeking at Health and Safety Manager at our Chattanooga, TN plant to pursue a variety of health and safety opportunities.
Successful candidates will have safety & health experience with strong emphasis in federal and state regulations (e.g. OSHA General Industry, including Process Safety Management, etc.).
If selected, your leadership and communication skills will be put to task as you build strong relationships with both internal and external customers. You can also expect to troubleshoot and problem-solve as a member of cross-functional teams.
In addition, the Health and Safety Manager will:
Provide expertise and leadership in the anticipation, recognition, and evaluation of safety related compliance
Work closely with operations to develop, implement and continuously improve the site's safety and health tools, systems and processes to meet the site's goal of zero injuries and to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and INVISTA standards
Develop the capability of the Operations and Maintenance organization to identify key risks and flawlessly execute our safe work practices and to provide ownership for our site EHS systems
Monitor and audit field related activities to ensure safety compliance is being maintained
Provide oversight of the site’s process safety program
Drive closure of H&S related action items utilizing work management computer systems
Provide field health and safety support to plant operations and projects personnel, including the coordination of on-site Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health programs
Lead and/or participate on safety and health related training
Facilitate incident investigations
Lead corporate and agency interactions, such as audits, program reviews, data submittals, etc.
Seek out best practices from outside the site and share knowledge within the INVISTA EHS network
Manage the site's Health & Safety personnel monitoring programs including noise, indoor air quality, heat stress and PPE assessments
The successful candidate will have:
Strong leadership, organizational and implementation skills with a strong attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills within all levels of the business as well as external contacts
Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS or higher in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related scientific or technical discipline
Applied knowledge of OSHA standards with 5 plus years of hands-on experience in delivering Health & Safety compliance at an industrial facility
Experience in preparing submittals for and interacting with regulatory agencies
Experience in MS Office. Excel: updating and creating spreadsheets, applying basic formulas and charts, Word: drafting letters and tables, PowerPoint: updating and creating presentations
Experience implementing standards/procedures/training
Bachelor's Degree or greater in Engineering and/or Health & Safety field
Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future
