Georgia Military College seeks a full-time, mathematics faculty member for the Augusta campus. This position within Academic Affairs will report directly to the department chair of Mathematics.GMC is on the quarter system. This person teaches twenty credit hours of mathematics courses per the four main quarters (Fall 1, Fall, Winter and Spring). Applicant must be willing to teach day, evening, and/or weekend courses. Faculty members have the option of teaching in the summer quarter when courses are available. GMC focuses on providing learner-centered education that is active and engaging. Faculty members prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution to complete their liberal arts track. Salary and title will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in mathematics or hold a Master’s degree and have 18 semester or 30 quarter hours in graduate mathematics courses. Previous teaching college experience, knowledge of learner-centered education, and experience with using a learning management system, such as Moodle, Blackboard, or WebCT is preferred. This position is a non-tenure track, 12-month renewable appointment.
