NCI: As a MySQL Database Administrator ( Systems Engineer , Senior ) you will provide non-personal services in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM), Assistant Chief of Staff (ACofS), G-5. You will provide engineering, test and evaluation, over-the-shoulder training, integration and sustainment support, configuration management, and life-cycle support of Army Enterprise Microsoft SQL Database and other Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). You will provide subject matter expertise in the planning, design, engineering, implementation and maintenance for specified SQL Database systems. This requirement is for the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), and Deployed Forces (DF) environments. You will also provide technical support to update, operate, sustain, and maintain an Army management (CM) life-cycle capability and provide Tier Three (troubleshooting and engineering) support for Army database systems.
Highlights of Responsibilities
Conduct database capacity management and storage management functions.
Design, test, and optimize/tune RDBMS components.
Conduct evaluations, including Information Assurance (IA) security analysis of candidate products, and develop recommendations for infusion of applicable technologies and products into the Army Enterprise architecture.
Evaluate and/or recommend changes to Army Enterprise Database documents to include: Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Information Systems Security Plan (ISSP), User’s Guides, Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs), DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Configuration Management Plans (CMP), Change Test Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other development, sustainment, and Configuration.
Administration of database objects such as indexes, tables, views, constraints, stored procedures.
Archiving, backup / recovery, replication, cloning, import/export and refresh administration of database users.
Contribute to design, maintenance, and documentation of integrated database security and components in relation to SOX and SAS70 compliance.
Review and assess new features or upgrades to existing RDBMS components as to include application database changes.
Reviews product literature to assess RDBMS differences and unique features.
Operate and maintain a system configuration database, perform configuration troubleshooting in support of CM, and conduct evaluation of new technology.
Configure and administer Servers and workstations in a multi-domain environment.
Installation and cabling of Cisco routers and switches.
Implement system security patching, anti-virus mgt, domain account maintenance, two-factor authentication systems (RSA SecureId), encryption tools/techniques, and web filtering & reporting tools.
Provides IA security, TIER III, and integration support to resolve and mitigated unforeseen technical issues during component change implementation and in response to user trouble tickets. Requirements
Current Active Secret Security Clearance and or the ability to obtain one.
Over of 4 years Microsoft SQL Server experience.
Hands on experience on MySQL Database administration, SQL programming language, SQLite and SharePoint databases.
Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments.
Experience with data management and data processing techniques.
Technical documentation skills.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
IAT Level II certified as specified in DOD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002 (Security+ CE, or GSEC, or SSCP IA Certifications).
IT level I in accordance with AR 25-2, requires Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI). Preferred Education and Experience
Have specific knowledge and working experience in Storage, Virtualization, Access Control, and IA Security systems; cable and plant configuration management including: power, equipment grounding, temperature control, physical security, and equipment rack space allocation.
Have performed security engineering and inspection of multiple DoD enclaves transitioning through the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability of systems, networks and data.
Have knowledge and working experience with CM processes to include Change Control and Release Management (CCRM), and asset management.
Have proficiency in all aspects of Networking and security, and VMware.
In-depth knowledge and experience in information systems auditing, security configuration management, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation strategy.
Have knowledge and the ability to scan various information systems using approved security tools (eRetina, Nessus, DISA Gold Standard, AppDetective) in order to identify and resolve vulnerabilities as necessary.
UNIX experience (including Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise LINUX).
Demonstrate experience with installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting multiple operating systems and application to include Solaris and Linux.
