The Alpine Facility is a major operated upstream asset on the North Slope of Alaska that produces 80,000 BOPD, and processes 180MMSCFD and 170 MBPD of Injection Water. The
Alpine Facility Engineer
is a key technical leadership position in assuring the business unit meets overall business goals and objectives. The Facility Engineer serves as the primary on-site ConocoPhillips engineering representative providing daily engineering support to Operations, Maintenance, Construction, Safety, Environmental, and other Support groups. The engineer also fulfills a project management function on an approximately $10 MM portfolio of construction packages, and liaisons with Anchorage based Major Projects Engineering on larger scale projects. This position provides direct oversight for an on-site 15 person contract design, drafting and documentation group.

The Facility Engineer's responsibilities may include:
Providing technical consultation services to Operations via interfacing with Superintendent, Operators and Maintenance Technicians to clarify day-to-day facility operations and engineering issues, planned maintenance, regulatory compliance, troubleshooting and incident investigations/breakdown reports
Taking a lead role to identify, define and exploit opportunities/projects to enhance facility performance in the areas of HSE, cost, and production
Providing project engineering support for the design and implementation of facility managed projects. These projects cover process issues, repairs, reliability improvements, production enhancements and cost saving initiatives. The project engineering functions run from design, material selection, contract design team oversight, construction support, quality assurance, cost control, functional checkout, and startup.
Providing technical review of all major projects modifications to ensure continuity of operations, process safety, and assurance of project deliverables. Provide options to Project Teams to meet critical time or capital requirements.
Leading facility's process safety management programs including MOC, PHA and equipment integrity. Perform Risk Assessments as required to comply with the HSE Management System
Coordinating discipline engineering and 3rd party resources as required to achieve BU business objectives
Coordinating with Environmental, Regulatory, Projects, Accounting, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Design, 3rd Party Gathering and Processing entities, and Development Partners as needed to successfully develop and execute Development plans
Providing leadership and strong advocacy for process and personal safety through participation in the facility and field safety processes
Providing Facility Engineering relief support for Alpine's drillsites on an as needed basis
Providing Step-up for the Facility Superintendent as required
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Willing to work in a remote location on14 days on/14 days off work schedule
5+ years of Oil and Gas Industry experience including gas / oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, LNG, etc.
Basic understanding of Facility Engineering fundamentals including a working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC)
Must be able to prioritize and execute multiple assignments in a changing environment. Capable of handling a large volume of diverse tasks and adapting to changes in project scope.
Results oriented- Must demonstrate an ability to operate independently in a decisive and committed manner to deliver results that are sustainable and measurable. Proven ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organization skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
5+ years Industry experience including gas / oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, LNG, etc.
2+ years experience in a direct facility operations or maintenance support role, turnaround, or startup role
2+ years experience managing or supporting small project execution
Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and resolution of findings i.e., Potential Problem Reports (PPRs)
Experience with the use of Industry Codes, Standards, and Recommended Practices
Familiarity with upstream processes including oil separation, gas compression and reinjection, MI generation and blending, water injection, corrosion and scale inhibition, power generation, and general plant and drill site operations
Working knowledge of maintenance or technical programs, specifically SAP, HYSIS, and MS Project is advantageous
