Windows System Administrator
6 month plus contract
Fort Worth, TX

Job Description:
This position supports and maintains a variety of Windows\Red Hat servers, SQL databases and Windows desktops. Ensures the reliability and availability of various business critical systems that require 7x24 supports and availability in a fast pace environment.

Specific Responsibilities:
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Manage and Maintain large number of Windows/Red Hat servers and Windows desktops.
Support the deployment of new systems, maintaining, upgrading, replacing and improving long-term performance of the systems.
Setup or implement monitoring processes and/or tools and report on server and application performance.
Manage current monitoring and reporting systems such as Whats UP, Altiris, DMC, VNC.
Manage the deployment of Operating System patches, drivers and firmware.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Administer and maintain off site facilities as needed.
Ability to produce quick fixes, as well as formulate long term solutions to problems.
Develop and implement custom application and/or scripts to support administrative tasks or the automation of these tasks.
Maintain and manage EMC, Equallogic and IBM SONAS storage solutions.
Symantec Backup Exec Design & Implementation.
Maintain and manage Trend antivirus across multiple departments and platforms.
Maintain and manage SQL database systems.
Maintain and manage VMWare environments.
Maintain and manage a Windows 2008 Active Directory.
Perform regular maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems (RHEL).
Manage and maintain Red Hat Satellite Server.
Manage and maintain Red Hat MRG infrastructure (Messaging, Realtime, and Grid) platform
Integrate RHEL platform with existing Windows Based applications and management infrastructure.
Support the development and deployment of new applications as needed in RHEL system.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology related discipline and/or at least 3 years of System Administrator experience for critical Enterprise infrastructures. RHCE or RHCSA preferred.

Desired Skills: The ideal candidate will have:
A thorough understanding of and experience with computer based systems and associated networking architectures
Experience working with large complex projects
Experience with Windows and Red Hat based computer systems, Microsoft clusters, Windows scripting, Active Directory, database administration, Storage Area Networks (SAN), computer imaging and hardware / software troubleshooting, antivirus protection,
Experience with RHEL, experience with RHEL 5+ and 6+ and experience with RHEL in a virtualized environment (chiefly VMware)
Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and have the ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision.
The candidate should possess a demonstrated ability to work closely with NOC and field personnel.
