Serves as the senior member of a cross-functional project team consisting of individuals from various IT departments and business units. Provides senior level specialty expertise to management from various IT departments. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively deal with evolving and competing objectives and possess a mastery of project management tools. Experienced with managing enterprise-wide projects, including managing third party personnel, working through contractual issues, etc. Develop and maintain project charters, detail project plans, weekly status updates and provides problem resolution. Responsible for ensuring projects are within scope and meets time and budget targets. Must be familiar with the role and function of team members in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. Communicates with Information Technology Director, functional area managers and/or business leaders regarding status of specific projects.
Oversees all tasks related to managing IT projects. This includes project definition, identification of goals, potential obstacles, project planning, tracking and reporting status, coordination with interfacing projects/departments, project evaluation and project revision (monitor timeliness and quality of deliverables to ensure compliance with standard processes and methodologies).
Tracks and assigns ownership of site and project level issues. Escalates issues to the proper level of management.
Analyzes operational impact of customer requests. Develops business case, forecasting costs, equipment and personnel requirements.
Assists with establishment and facilitation of internal IT project management processes and tools (i.e. critical path tracking, contingency planning, operational workflow documentation/refinement).
Provides daily guidance and education to customers and IT team regarding roles and responsibilities, project expectations, communication protocols and IT financial processes, etc.
Education: BA/BS in Management, Information Systems or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years project management or job related experience in a medium to large scale corporation.
Experience in managing enterprise-wide projects.
Knowledge of project management software (i.e. MS Project).
Demonstrated knowledge of lifecycle methodology and experience with projects from initiation to deployment.
Demonstrated mastery of PMI methodology and delivery tools.
Ability to develop and maintain multiple project plans.
Strong leadership, facilitation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a cross functional team dynamic.
Strong organization, communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and time management skills.
Basic background or knowledge of information systems.
