Description The Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kentucky State University invites applications for the following position.
Assistant Professor of History (Tenure Track)
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in History from an accredited institution of higher education is highly recommended; an ABD with a clear and imminent completion date will be considered. Demonstrated potential for or record of:
Research, scholarly and/ or creative activity;
Effective teaching using a variety of methodologies; and
Ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.
Duties: The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in History and upper-level courses in African American History. Advising students, engaging in research, publishing, providing distance education, grant-seeking, and other related professional, scholarly, and creative activities involving students whenever possible and contributing to the department, college and University through committee involvement, curriculum and course development, student assessment, and community service.
