Creates cloud based unified communications platform for mostly telecommunication companies and for consumers. The platform is on focus on Telcos to create an Amazon like model for Telco infrastructure. Currently they have 23 full-time employees, mostly engineers.
Our clients CBUC platform will deliver both real-time communication services such as instant messaging, presence and location-based services, telephony, video, call control and more, as well as non-real-time communication services such as integrated voicemail, e-mail, SMS and fax all via the Cloud, accessible to you via web or mobile application. They are focus on applications : Application is on Android & iPhone mobile Apps/Biz Apps for products sold by their partners.
When they launch their platform, clients will be able to simply sign up for the companys online or at one of their thousands of retail locations, and get instant access to intuitively easy-to-use services. No hardware to buy or install onsite, no intensive multi-day configuration, and no waiting. If youre one of our partners' 150 million mobile subscribers, their services will be available as an option on customers current plan.
The company is in stealth mode and cannot reveal their IP, but when people find out what they are doing they are very eager to join.
Their competition could be someone like: Voice Ride, 8x8, RingCentral, ApplicationRide, Yahoo, and Fring.
Operations Group: There are 2 people in the group currently. They are responsible for management and maintenance of cloud services, external operations (24x7) for both consumer, business products and all applications.
Platform Group: There are 5 people in the team now. This group is responsible for creating cloud based services and core infrastructure developed in Java.
Application Group: There are 5-6 people in this group with some contractors. They are responsible for all front end applications for all products as well as device software (for iPhone and Android).
Voice and Video Group: currently staffed.
QA Group currently staffed.
Title: Operations Manager OR Director
Reports to Operations Group led by Director of Engineering & to the CEO
Responsible for design implementation, planning and capacity management of the telephony environment
Establish operational best practices and standard operating procedures for deployment, support, break-fix, and management (monitoring, inventory, sparing, etc.)
Implements ongoing improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams
Manages live cloud based services in a 247 environment with 5 9s reliability
Responsible for deployment of updates and new releases to the live environment
Will validate and select systems and equipment to meet the demands of the service on an ongoing basis.
Manage many aspects of business operations as they relate to live products
Architecting cloud based mission-critical services
Experience in supporting mission-critical 247 Telecom & Network services
Experience deploying telco grade cloud based services or SAAS products
Prior Experience deploying / Managing VoIP solutions is very desirable
Prior Experience deploying / Managing solutions in Amazon's cloud is very desirable
Prior experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Ability to deliver high quality code with minimal supervision and strict deadlines
Ability to quickly pickup new technology and adapt it to current projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with Product Life Cycle and Agile development methodologies
