You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing manufacturing software for current and new products for our Thermography group. Will be a part of a small and highly talented team with the opportunity to learn and grow.
Fluke is seeking a senior software engineer with experience developing software for the manufacture of electronic products. This position requires an energetic achiever who can work with a team of development and production engineers to develop and support a set of production stations used to manufacture high-end thermal imaging cameras.
Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software for manufacturing automation.
·
Conduct preliminary analysis of design objectives to define optimum design of automated manufacturing station software.
·
Support ongoing manufacturing yield optimization and product changes.
·
Implement software in accordance with design criteria and performance objectives.
·
Use object-oriented design and programming techniques to develop applications using C# and MS .NET framework.
·
Thoroughly document, debug and validate software design.
·
Support production of software installation releases.
·
Support hardware/software integration efforts.
·
Establish and maintain technical project files.
·
Operate within project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective product introduction.
·
Follow department standards for software development, including project planning, documentation, design reviews, software testing, project status reporting, and software configuration management.
·
Interact with engineering and production team members and other departments to deliver a superior product.
·
Prepare oral and/or written presentations for technical design reviews.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
·
BS or MS in EE/CS/CE (or similar).
·
5+ years of experience in architecture design and coding of PC software application software.
·
Significant experience in object oriented design and programming (C#, C++, Java, etc.).
·
Experience and knowledge in the use of Visual Studio .NET and C# technology.
·
Highly motivated and productive.
·
Strong technical writing and code documentation skills.
·
Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills.
·
Ability to work independently and on project teams across multiple sites within the US.
Desired Skills:
·
Experience and knowledge in designing software to interface with, and control externally connected hardware, e.g. servo motors, temperature controllers, etc.
·
Experience and knowledge in the use of SQL databases, object-relational mapping, and report generation.
·
Experience writing software for embedded devices.
·
Familiarity with various communication protocols (e.g. USB, RS232, RS485, etc.).
