Oakdale MN office however as this is a consulting role the actual work location will depend on the assigned engagement Travel We target travel at 30 however it could be less or more depending on the assigned engagement Responsibilities The Design Engineer will support complex enterprise architectures by developing and implementing detailed design configuration and engineering strategiessolutions for one or more technologies within the technical area of expertise ensure that capability flexibility scalability performance and reliability objectives are met or exceeded for a variety of small to midsize projects in conjunction with the team and vendorcontractor resources ensure that designs are viable flawlessly executed and transition seamlessly into the production environment Key Accountabilities Analysis and problem solving Technical design engineering Technical delivery engineering Project support Processes standards best practices Leadership partnerships Incident management Level 4 support (24x7) Problem management Level 4 support (24x7) Software installations uplifts fix packs and patches Lead project transition to support (post installation) Complete platform management Relationship management with technical business partners Responsible for configuration management and maintenance of all messaging infrastructure Manage and maintain mobile device platforms including BlackBerry Good Microsoft ActiveSync and others Make recommendations regarding storage retention and backuprecovery of all messaging data Assist the support staff in troubleshooting user issues with all enterprise messaging platforms and client software Build implement and manage productssolutions for Managed Messaging and Collaboration Business which consists primarily of Exchange Server technologies and also SharePoint and Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) Manage Microsoft Messaging and Collaboration Monitoring systems based on Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Integrate Microsoft Exchange solutions with Antivirusantispamcontent filtering solutions Integrate Microsoft Exchange solutions with wireless technologies such as ActiveSync and BlackBerry Enterprise Server Manage “best of breed third party tools and system enhancements Requirements Apply critical thinking (nonprescriptive) to resolve issues and escalate or collaborate with other Infrastructure Engineers to expedite resolution Perform analysis on data points on the above listed items in order to proactively prevent issues from occurring Design backup structure and process Define monitoring and alerting thresholds Strong experience with Windows Exchange and Microsoft’s collaboration suite (Lync and SharePoint) Demonstrated experience with Exchange High Availability models Cisco Unified Personal Communicator (Presence) experience preferred but not required Knowledge of VMware SAN storage Mobile Messaging (iPhone Android BlackBerry) Experience with retention policies archiving and ediscovery Microsoft Exchange MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) certification achieved or in process or a proven track record of managing enterprise messaging environments is required Demonstrated technical proficiency with Windows 2008X Server and Active Directory Experience migrating from previous versions and competing platforms to Exchange Strong experience as a messaging engineering architect and deployment resource Production Experience with Exchange 2010 including architecture and deployment of multi node DAGs Geographically redundant DAGs and server virtualization a plus Proven experience gathering and understanding business needs and goals and able to effectively communicate Experience with Microsoft technologies in an integrated model a plus Experience in multicustomer multitenant and managed hosting environments a plus Enterprise level monitoring experience Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange – 2010 Active Directory and SharePoint Preferred skills Prefer 7 years with primary job responsibility focused on architecting deploying and managing Microsoft Exchange Expert knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2007 2010 including virtualized deployments and high availability environments Degree in Computer Science Engineering or related Equivalent experience will be
