This is a temporary position
This position will lead a cross-functional execution team to achieve successful completion of assigned plant closure activities in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. The selected individual will report daily to the HOVENSA OSBL Team Leader on all assigned activities, including but not limited to, issuance of work permits, piping system flushes, other process unit lay-up activities, loading and unloading of ISO containers, material transfers and material neutralization.
Develop and execute detailed plans to de-inventory, depressure, flush, drain, and restore interconnect piping systems to meet pre-established targets.
Will utilize the interconnect piping system packages to determine how to drain, flush, and clean the piping systems.
Will be part of the execution team to implement recommendations to include performing maintenance activities.
Will also monitor and report to Hovensa Supervision on the activities of execution teams and other contractor projects to include, but not limited to, catalyst unloading, unit lay-up processes, loading of ISO containers, and material transfers.
Experience with process unit operations and/or terminal operations with proven ability to troubleshoot process problems and a strong understanding of P&IDs.
Demonstrated ability to install and remove blinds, connect and disconnect hoses, install steam-out and drain piping, and do flange make-ups.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong knowledge of HOVENSA’s Safety, Health, and Environmental procedures
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 10 years experience with process unit operations and/or terminal operations with proven ability to troubleshoot process problems and a strong understanding of P&IDs.
Operations supervisory skill a plus.
Proven ability to make piping line-ups and operate valves, pumps, and portable equipment (e.g., pumps, air compressors, light plants).
General knowledge of the MOC process and required documentation.
Demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Working knowledge of Livelink required.
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate, both orally and in writing, to include providing updates to various levels of management in planning and execution meetings.
Currently possess, or ability to obtain within 5 days, certification for Permit Issuance to include lockout / tagout, confined space entry, hot work, and other energy isolation permits.
Currently possess, or ability to obtain within 5 days, certification to operate scissor lift and man lift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, work at elevated heights, and utilize all necessary personal protective equipment.
Ability to work in a confined space
Valid driver’s license and Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
Must possess ability to work with minimal supervision.
