Project leader responsible for the management and delivery of infrastructure programs and projects. Supervises, directs, and coordinates people, process, and technology within specific project scope. Responsible for cross-functional strategy, integration, and execution of OnStar infrastructure and applications required to ensure continued delivery of world-class services to OnStar subscribers.

  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans and integrated schedules for Infrastructure projects. Key integration points include:
  • Network
  • Telephony/CTI
  • Server Hosting
  • End User Computing
  • Security
  • IT Operations
  • Lead Estimation, Scope, and Requirements Management processes
  • Financial Management (budgeting and forecasting)
  • Conduct Issues/Risk Management and Mitigation
  • Oversee Quality, Change, and Configuration Management
  • Manage Performing Suppliers and 3rd Party Vendors
  • Ensure solutions are implemented in production are “Production Ready”
  • Work with other OnStar IT sectors and Call Centers on requirements gathering, strategy development, IT estimation, and scheduling when developing regional and global implementation plans
  • Teams and collaborates with peers from development and sustain groups
  • Deploys global solutions that comprehend regional and local requirements
  • Follows GM System Delivery Process (SDP), ITIL and CMMI practices
  • Provide status reports and delivers presentations to leadership and project stakeholders
  • Supports operations project management office for developing practical and repeatable processes
  • Participates in portfolio strategy and planning
  • Assists in the development of departmental goals and objectives
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Works independently and seeks creative solutions and alternatives to unusual and difficult problems
  • Handles a variety of non-recurring special assignments
  • Keeps abreast of current IT trends in areas of expertise
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with business and IT staff, as well as performing suppliers
  • Proactively seeks new and challenging assignments
  • Provides consistent thought leadership

Basic Required:
  • Technical Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years experience in managing complex infrastructure or development projects
  • Demonstrated leadership in IT infrastructure project management
  • In-depth knowledge in one of the following areas, and a working knowledge of at least three: Network infrastructure, Telematics (CTI/Telephony), Server infrastructure, Desktop infrastructure, Call center operations, Data center operations
  • Experience using waterfall, agile, and iterative development lifecycles
  • Experience with VMWare, VDI, Oracle Solaris, Suse Linux, Citrix, Avaya, Genesys
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent people skills and a strong team player
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle stress and meet deadlines
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
  • Strong change management skills
  • Experience working on cross-functional global teams
Basic Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • PMP Certification
  • Automotive OEM Experience
  • Experience with supplier agreement management
