The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full time Laboratory Technician.
The Laboratory Technician will report to Dr. Jill Verlander, principal investigator and director of the College of Medicine Electron Microscopy Core Facility ( COM EM Core) and will be involved in original research studies, primarily studying renal structure-function relationships, and will also provide technical support for the operations of the COM EM Core. Duties will be focused on histological and ultrastructural procedures, including morphologic and immunocytochemical studies. Our renal research laboratory is one of the foremost laboratories in the world in renal structural studies. The COM EM Core provides technical services, training, and access to equipment for investigators in biomedical research. Thus, the individual must be service-oriented and able to work well with a wide variety of individuals. The individual will comply with all safety and regulatory requirements to assure the safe and proper functioning of the laboratory.
A high school diploma and two years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
