Our client: Infinity Property & Casualty is looking to hire a ETL Developer. This is a fulltime permanent role in Birmingham, Alabama. We are looking for candidates with US Citizenship and Green Card status. Relocation assistance is available for this role.NOTE: This is a fulltime permanent role in Birmingham, AL. Candidates interested in this opportunity will have to relocate to or near Birmingham, AL.POSITION SUMMARY:The ETL Developer/Architect (ETL) focuses on providing comprehensive processes to extract data from source systems, transform data according to business rules, and load data into warehouse and presentation models. The role requires analysis of varied and evolving sources of data, determining extraction methodologies and loading to operational data models & data marts. Additionally, the ETL Developer/Architect must work with Business users to ensure that the appropriate data is being sourced into the EDW in conformance with data governance guidelines. This position, as a rule, requires the qualified candidate to be innovative and creative in solving complex problems and work in an environment where requirements can continually evolve, while still maintaining adherence to all enterprise data warehouse standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in all phases of the enterprise data warehouse/business intelligence implementation and support. Maintain, and enforce ETL architecture design principles, techniques, standards and best practices primarily using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and PL/SQL. Some shell scripting may be utilized as well. Participate in requirements gathering and refinement interviews, as needed. Obtain and analyze requirements to create and implement an ETL architecture/integration solution that is flexible, high performance, scalable, and correctly manages business data/information. Understand ETL architecture, data integration, and infrastructure related risks and develop mitigation plans. Support and drive the technical design of ETL reference architecture to ensure high data quality, data integration performance, and error recovery/handling. Establish and maintain comprehensive ETL architecture and data integration documentation, including flows, transformations, error recovery, etc. Interact closely with business analysis teams, data warehouse/BI team to ensure understanding of data integration, data architecture and BI requirements. Conduct ETL architecture and data integration design review sessions. Assist in source to target mapping activities, in conjunction with the data warehouse team. Participate as a member of metadata and data governance design, implementation, and maintenance activities. Participate in performance tuning and problem resolution activities for warehouse and BI application loads. Develop data integration architectures for MDM related software tools or processes. Supports and administers the ODI server, application, agents, and environment. Other ETL and data warehousing duties as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of Oracle RDBMS experience. The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of experience in an Oracle data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate must have previous experience using ETL tools, ODI, Informatica, SSIS, etc. Must have excellent organization, communication, and inter-personal skills . Must be an individual that is highly self-motivated. Must be an individual with a great attention to detail and must understand the need for consistency and the requirements for deviation from the norm. Must be able to work efficiently both as a member of a team as well as individually. Strong background and competency in enterprise data warehouse data architecture and data modeling patterns, following established Kimball and Inmon methodologies. Understanding of Kimball methodology is required. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Experience with Oracle Exadata. ODI experience is preferred. BS Degree
