The VA Black Hills Health Care System (VA BHHCS) is located in the beautiful Black Hills of western South Dakota, where we are known for our blue skies, pine forests, rich history, moderate climate and friendly western hospitality. The VA BHHCS provides primary, surgical, behavioral health, community living center (nursing home care), and domiciliary (residential rehabilitation treatment program - RRTP) care for Veterans residing in western South Dakota and portions of Nebraska, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Care is delivered through the Fort Meade (near Sturgis) and Hot Springs VA Medical Centers, as well as through a number of community-based outpatient and rural outreach clinics. VA Black Hills is part of VA Midwest Health Care Network (VISN 23).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required

DUTIES:
Provide ENT services two days a week with rotation to include coverage at the Hot Springs campus a minimum of two days per month. Surgical procedures to be performed at the Fort Meade campus one day per week; includes tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, thyroid lobectomy, tympanoplsty, excision of parotid tumors, vestibuloplasty, biopsies, sinusotomy, larynx procedures, tracheostomy closures, control nasal hemorrhage, laryngoscopy, nasal/sinus endoscopy, excisions of soft tissue of the neck/anterior thorax, rhinoplasty, septoplasty, etc.

Hours:
Part time, 32 hours per biweekly pay period.

Relocation expenses will be paid.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To be qualified, you must meet the following basic requirements:

U.S. Citizenship

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Must be board certified or eligible.

Preferred Experience

1. Board Certification in Otolaryngology.
