Support asset gathering and retention activities. The Product Strategist will use their specialized skills to lead all strategic aspects of product analysis across equity, fixed income and alternative strategies.
Analyze product trends and the competitive environment, including the way target competitors are commercializing their products and competing in the marketplace.
Cross functional role interfacing with Product Managers, Distribution, Marketing,Investments and Business Development on a regular basis.
Serve as resource for assessing what products are in demand, worth selling and what range of people to market them to
Design creative ways to present investment strategy analytics and competitive information
Observe where competitors are performing well and where they are performing sub-par
Maintain an in-depth understanding and knowledge of our investment approach and market outlook by working with our CIOs, Investment Analysts, sub advisers, and senior members of management team
Conduct intense investment research and report on market developments and broader industry trends
Raise competitive issues on product offerings to Product Mangers and Senior Management
Collaborate with Product Managers, Distribution, Marketing, Investments and Business Development to help to help maximize commercial opportunities
Ongoing monitoring of the
macro investment environment as well as monitoring of performance, valuation, and expectations for a broad range of asset classes and how the information may impact Transamerica’s Variable Annuity and Investment products
Contribute to the preparation of new business presentations, requests for proposals and other documents as required.
3 - 7 years related industry experience either in asset management organization or other financial services institution specifically in mutual funds, alternative investments, other registered/non-registered investment offerings.
Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets, trends, products and investment techniques.
Strong analytical skills and experience in use of quantitative portfolio analysis tools.
Familiarity in uses of retail and institutional industry databases and research tools such as SimFund, Morningstar Direct, Lipper, etc…
Ability to present, articulate a point of view and influence an audience.
Critical thinker who is a quick learner and decisive; responsive decision maker.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Ambitious work ethic and proven professional disposition.
Demonstrated leadership in managing change and innovation.
Able to work effectively with other businesses as a team player
Experience with the basic concepts of investment portfolio management and the principals governing fiduciary investing.
MBA desired. CFA or CIMA preferred (but not necessary).
