MINIMUM CLEARANCE REQUIRED: SECRET
Systems Engineer with expertise in open systems architecture or related hardware and software systems integration activities needed to provide support to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Engineering, ODASD(SE) in Mission Assurance (MA). MA focuses on developing and providing systems engineering policy and guidance and supporting Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs) and other special interest programs.
Provide technical expertise and support in the specific area of systems engineering, open systems architecture and open systems integration as a key member of ODASD(SE).
Assist with developing defense SE guidance and policy as it relates to Open Systems Architecture.
Assist with developing defense SE guidance and policy as it relates to data rights.
Assist with developing defense SE guidance related to the use of Open Standards.
Participate in discussions with the Services, Industry and Open Systems Standards organizations.
Support MA in developing changes to the Defense Acquisition Guide and related coordination with Defense Acquisition University for Acquisition and Systems Engineering Curriculum changes.
Bachelor Degree in engineering
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years SE experience supporting MDAPs
Familiarity with different types of DoD systems
Strong background and capability in systems integration (hardware, software, or both); system requirements decomposition/allocations; modular, open systems architecture and design requirements, systems modeling; Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) tools
Familiarity with the DoD 5000 series, to include the Defense Acquisition Guide (DAG)
Experience working in the Defense Acquisition Community as a Military Officer/Government Civilian/or Contractor
Ability to work and effectively communicate at the Government Service (GS) 15 grade and Senior Executive Service (SES) levels as a key member of a joint Government/Contractor team
MINIMUM CLEARANCE REQUIRED : SECRET
Masters in systems engineering preferred
Military experience is a plus
Ability to act as an ambassador of the ODASD(SE) to Services and DoD Components in all correspondence and in reviews
Excellent verbal/written skills
Ability to adhere to established processes and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher (preferred). Note: Training/ certification will be provided for a Six Sigma Greenbelts nevertheless
