The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards and regulations that governs our facility to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided at all times. Acts as Director of Nursing in her/his absence.
The ADON request a minimum of a Nursing Degree, currently licensed as an RN in the state of Minnesota, and have one year of supervisory experience. Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and geriatric nursing experience are also required. The ADON must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and have an ability to work effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and staff who collectively possess a variety of personalities and backgrounds. He/She must have an ability to work with changing priorities, and use effective leadership and communication skills. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care. He/She must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices. Knowledge of computer applications including medical charting, internet and intranet.
