Position Summary:

ProEnergy Client is looking for a Safety Director. The director of safety is charged with developing, managing and administering the corporate Environmental, Health and Safety programs for Client. Key responsibilities include strategy development, implementation of policies and procedures related to all of EHS and Sustainability, including company education and training, and leading projects to achieve annual targeted reduction goals and cost savings. The EHS and Sustainability Director must have understanding of current best practices in EHS and sustainability, solid communication skills, and experience in cross-functional team leadership and team facilitation.

Functions of the Job:

Design, modify and implement safety and health programs to assure compliance and continuously drive improvement in Company performance.
·
Responsible for ensuring that the goals of a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound work environment are actively pursued in an effective and conscientious manner through strategy development and strong programs by providing leadership, strategy and direction while integrating corporate EH&S policies, programs and processes in support of operational excellence and continuously improving an interdependent EH&S culture.

Engage the organization to build consensus on a future state for sustainability: identify short and long term goals, analyze
·
Provides tactical assurance of compliance with all laws, statutes, regulations and appropriate standards at all locations EHS resources and in collaboration with Corporate Risk Manager.
·
Provides assurance that all personnel at all locations and levels have the necessary understanding and training and remain in compliance with the EHS policies and processes.
·
Coordinate the efforts of the Safety and Incident Review Committees to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries.
·
Perform regular site visits and inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
·
Coach and guide associates and managers regarding safety compliance issues
·
Demands discretion, good judgment, and prompt, accurate decision-making, as well as the management of complex situations.
Knowledge:
·


A Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental, or related field.
·
Must have extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
·
An understanding of key performance indicators, the ability to scope and execute related projects, and analyze and report measurable results.
·
Ability to assign priorities changing/challenging organization environment that is undergoing a transformation.
·
Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation are required. Must be able to make effective oral presentations to a wide audience range from hourly employees to owners and clients.
·
Must be able to write reports, analyze data, and create presentations using standard software, such as Word, Word Perfect, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Experience:
·


Desired Certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, OSHA 500, 40-Hour HazWoper,
·
10+ years of work experience in fields in Construction, preferably in the high-tech and refinery industries.
·
Experience developing and delivering educational programs and ensuring sustainability.
·
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver results within established timeframes and pay attention to critical details
·
Experience with OSHA, DOT, RCRA
Location:

This position will be held at ProEnergy’s Client location in the Western USA.
