Data entry and conversion of non-digital documents into Microsoft
Word, Framemaker, Arbortext Epic Editor, and other desktop publishing software
according to MILSPEC, ATA 2200, and/or S1000D specifications. Coordinates with management and technical
writers on proper entry of source documents. Must manage workloads to meet
stringent delivery schedules.
Essential Job Functions
Working with technical writers to create maintenance publications for
aircraft, marine, and industrial turboshaft engines. Requires the ability to quickly learn and use
new software and enter data in various styles and formats per
specifications. Must be able to use SGML, XML, and HTML
tagging. All work must be tracked using
a number of desktop and web-based databases and spreadsheets. Clear communicator able to work with DS2 and
customer representatives. Excellent work
Minimum Education and Experience Required
High School graduate or
GED minimum, some college experience preferred.
Keyboard skills and desktop publishing software experience a must.
Prior experience in desktop publishing such as MS
Word, Adobe Framemaker, and Arbortext Adept Editor. Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as
VisMockUp. Knowledge of Air Transport
Association Spec 2200. Knowledge of SGML,
XML, or HTML tagging. Some prior exposure to technical writing. Mechanical background, preferably in aviation.
