Job Description:
Enterprise Systems Engineer will be responsible for the
design, configuration, and support of the SAVO
enterprise monitoring and system management tools. This
position requires experience in large, distributed
enterprise systems within a Microsoft based environment
with a high level knowledge of server and desktop
operating systems, databases (SQL), application
performance (.NET), network concepts and protocols.
Position is responsible for researching, architecting,
deploying and managing tools that will produce monitors,
dashboards, alerts and performance reports across all
production and pre-production environments as well as
help SAVO manage their desktop and server infrastructure
using tools like SCCM. Person will work closely with
application architects, desktop engineers, network and
product engineers in designing integrated monitoring,
alerting and system management solutions. You will set
up effective end-to-end system performance and
reliability monitoring, desktop and Server management,
patch management, enterprise level service desk
implementation to provide corporate ticketing system.
You will work with both technical and business teams to
implement improvements in process, software components,
scripts, frameworks, tools and infrastructure that will
result in improved application performance and
  • Solid understanding of standard client/server,
networking, and Internet fundamentals.
  • A superior knowledge and demonstrated technical
proficiency in Microsoft Systems Center
Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 and 2012 with
experience in managing medium to large environments.
  • The candidate should be able to troubleshoot all
aspects of SCCM effectively and understand the
product flow patch management, software distribution
and logging in detail
  • In addition, experience in other Microsoft
Management technologies, including Active Directory
services (AD), Microsoft System Center Operations
Manager 2007/12, System Center Service Manager and
WSUS is desired.
  • Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills
at the System Engineer level; exceptional customer
service, overall communication and technical writing
  • Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate
with development and other internal organizations.
  • Ability to apply technology to improve existing
products and systems at SAVO
  • Expertise in at least one of the following: Windows
desktop Operating Systems, Windows server Operating
Systems, SQL- both, management and querying, IIS,
PowerShell, and repackaging applications.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with
minimal management supervision.
  • Automate processes, reducing the amount of
day-to-day issues or manual overhead
  • Strong organization, time management, project
management, and negotiation skills

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information
Technology discipline
  • 7+ years hands-on experience using application and
network monitoring tools to identify, isolate,
troubleshoot and resolve application performance
problems in a Microsoft based environment
  • 7+ years of hands-on System/Network operations
experience in a 24x7, distributed web services
  • 7+ years working independently, managing multiple
tasks and directional changes under short yet firm
deadlines with a strong ability to work creatively
and analytically
  • Experience with three or more of the following
representative technologies: Solarwinds, TFS, SCOM,
SCCM, SCSM, Syslog-NG, Splunk, BMC Coradiant, and
  • 5+ years programming and/or scripting experience
with one or more of the following tools: Visual
Basic/Studio/C++/C-sharp, PHP, Perl, PowerShell,
Batch files / Microsoft server commands, WMI, SQL
  • Deep infrastructure knowledge including
troubleshooting, design, and implementation
experience across the Microsoft Server stack
  • Packaging experience should include Wise Studio, but
Install Shield experience may be substituted, along
with VBscript and SMS packaging
  • Knowledge of SQL Databases including MS SQL and its
monitoring methodologies
  • Knowledge of Sysprep, WinPE, and image deployment
methods such as Lite-Touch
  • Experience assessing the quality and improving the
end-to-end performance of systems, including
application components that span multiple locations,
environments, operating systems and frameworks
  • Ability to define and maintain monitoring solutions
that can effectively support operations applying
concepts of notification suppression, alert and
system dependencies, de-duplication, SLA and
availability requirements, ticketing and tracking,
and automated escalation
  • Ability to bridge the gap between development,
infrastructure, and operations, communicate ideas
and sell solutions
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects
simultaneously, work under tight deadlines and
subject to heavy project load
  • Ability to work comfortably with minimal
supervision, take responsibility, deal with
ill-defined problems
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills, is a proficient
problem solver, has the ability to acquire new
skills quickly, and thrive in a collaborative team
