FMC Green River, WY is hiring a Process Engineer to optimize the processes and documentation for manufacturing trona ore into a variety of products (soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide for food and pharmaceutical, glass, environmental, household products, mining, oil & gas, and more.
  • Processes include heat exchangers, liquid / solid separation, crystallization, centrifuge, filtration, thickening, clarifying, etc.
  • Daily challenges and opportunities may include short-term in- plant projects, process improvement for plant inefficiencies, working with plant operators, capital projects, and change management projects.

  • Investigate / resolve customer complaints at plant level
  • Participate in acid cleaning
  • Identify and develop process control mechanisms
  • Interact with Corporate Technology Group
  • Execute projects in support of capital plan
  • Track / optimize all additives to process
  • Support plant process needs
  • Relieve for staff positions
  • Act as process expert and develop process documentation
  • Coordinate ISO 9000 certification of plant measurement systems and support ISO 9000 efforts
  • Help ensure compliance with product specific regulatory and customer requirements
  • Train / teach operators about new processes and process improvements
  • Participate in safety hazards reviews
  • Mentor new process engineers as needed
  • Generate plant efficiency reports
  • Perform Weekend Duty
  • Analysis of AFE’s

  • Support Responsible Care efforts

  • Required Education:
    • BS Chemistry, Engineering, Physical Sciences or related degree


    • BS Chemistry, Engineering, Physical Sciences or related degree
    • Minimum 3 years experience with heat exchangers, pumping and piping, mass and energy balancing (thermal dynamics, enthalpy); 5 years preferred
    • Crystallization, filtration, Safety (HAZOP, PSSR, PHA, MOC) experience preferred
