Summary of Duties
Assists with the nursing care of patients. Provides
comfort services and assistance with activities of daily
HIRING COMPETENCIES - skills & experiences the applicant
should bring to the job.
a) Education: High school diploma or equivalent
required, and proof of diploma or transcript is required
b) Certification: CNA Level 2 Acute Care certification
required upon hire or by November 17, 2008. American
Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred upon
hire, and required within 90 days of hire. If not
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
certified upon hire, must have current BLS certification
through another provider.
c) Minimum 6 months experience in skilled nursing
facility or hospital preferred.
d) Able to develop skills in use of computerized
hospital information/ordering system.
e) Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.
f) Utilizes effective verbal communication skills.
g) Functions effectively in stressful situations.
h) Demonstrates skills in caring for neonatal,
pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in a
knowledgeable, skillful and consistent manner.
i) Personal appearance makes a good first impression.

Assists in the movement of patients and/or equipment
whose weight may range from 30-500 pounds, pushes or
pulls weights, walks and/or stands for 8 hours/shift,
lifts 35 to 40 pounds. Must have adequate range of
motion to accomplish duties.
