Per college policy, during the internal posting period for faculty positions, only current BC tenured faculty will be considered. Broward College invites applicants for a full time tenure track teaching position in Professional Pilot Technology. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners. This position is a yearly two semester (163 days) contract. The anticipated hire date is August 2013.
Bachelor's degree and current FAA certification as a Certified Flight Instructor to include instrument airplane. Multi-engine instructor preferred; or, FAA Ground Instructor with an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and related industry experience and/or a Master's degree in Aviation or a Master's with 18 graduate semester hours in Aviation are preferred.
College-level teaching experience in Aviation preferred.
FAA Commercial pilot with ground instructor certifications; FAA pilot certification of at least a commercial pilot required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Maintains registration and/or licensure in the field and completes required continuing education. Fosters diversity within the program. Communicates effectively and negotiates professionally through collaboration, decision-making, and problem solving. Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of higher education and is committed to creating and maintaining a collaborative and team-building environment.
