Roles and Responsibilities
:
Works with Team Members to provide for a clean and safe work environment.
Work diligently to identify and report near misses.
Correct all issues that can be corrected with line members.
Work with maintenance to assure that all issues requiring their support are corrected in a timely manner.
Provides for excellent housekeeping performance above and beyond company standards on a perpetual basis.
Works with Team Members to assure that all environmental standards are met or exceeded 10,000%
of the time.
Works with the Mill’s Environmental Coordinator to assure that there is a complete understanding of those requirements on a perpetual basis.
Train all Operators completely and monitor their performance to assure 100% compliance 100% of the time.
Trains all Line Members to assure that they have a complete understanding as to the requirements of their jobs and that they demonstrate that knowledge completely on a daily basis.
Utilize standard work to define best practices and to train and certify Operators religiously.
Modifies standard work through the Mill’s Process Engineer as better ways of doing things are identified.
Responsible for Operator Basic Care and the maintenance of the Glue Line’s assets on a perpetual basis.
Assures that each Line Member understands and executes their responsibilities toward maintaining the line.
Enters work orders for corrective measures outside of that which can be completed by Line Members.
Follows up with Maintenance to assure that all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
Complete RCA’s for all production lost time events of 15 minutes or longer.
Assures that all process quality controls are defined and implemented for each step of the Line Operation.
Trains all Line Members as to their responsibilities and follows up to confirm that all parameters are met on a perpetual basis.
Provides for appropriate documentation where necessary.
Provides corrective measures when necessary to assure compliance.
Complete RCA’s for all downfall of 3% or greater.
Works with the Line Members to meet or exceed production standards on a perpetual basis.
Makes staffing adjustments where necessary to assure performance.
Manages the timing between operations and implements
perpetual corrective measures to assure standards are met or exceeded consistently.
Optimizes the use of Mill material resources on a basis.
Assures that Glue Line inventories are balanced, that the appropriate materials are loaded onto the line and that veneer recovery is optimized on a perpetual basis.
Works with the Glue Line Supervisor to assure that glue inventories are perpetually managed to assure availability for the line and that Glue consumption is at or below company standards for the product under production.
Provides for the accuracy of Glue Line production data and it entry into the plant reporting systems in a timely manner.
Basic Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivilant
Candidate must be able to work any shift, variable start times, including overtime, weekend, and holidays (as required)
Reduce unplanned downtime and assist team with uptime improvement efforts, driving the plant towards 98% overall uptime
One to two years of supervising people preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Familiarity with Word, Excel, MP2 and MOE computer systems is preferred.
