Description

Develops and implements testing and inspection procedures. Tests raw material, chemicals, and/or finished product to quality controls to ensure compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations. Audits testing results to determine if product specifications are met. Advises operating units on quality control standards for raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, and finished products. Recommends corrective action where necessary and develops plant quality control manuals.

Must be capable of writing detailed quality reports relating to quality requirement compliance, audit findings, and defect reports. Conduct Quality Audits. Must be able to enter data tracking information into excel spreadsheets, interpret collected data, implement, and monitor data tracking, trending and have an understand of the information provided through analysis of trended data.

Manages the total quality function of a plant or group of plants. Ensures adherence to and compliance with established company quality policies, practices, SOP's and federal regulations. Ensures quality of materials purchased, processed, manufactured and/or distributed by the company. May be responsible for on-site training. Interacts internally primarily with subordinates and other supervisors. External interaction is typically with suppliers, vendors and/or customers. Primary purpose of liaison is information sharing and basic problem resolution.

Directly supervises individual contributors and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers). Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the work unit. Assignments are task or activity oriented. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency. Decisions impact work unit operations. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of more people and financial resources.

Qualifications

10 - 14 years with related Quality experience, Aerospace/Aviation preferred Bachelors degree or 8 - 12 years with related experience with a Masters degree.
