SUMMARY: Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities and services in the assigned Region of the organization for the achievement and support of policies, goals, and objectives established. The following are duties executed personally or through team members:

Purpose: •

The primary purpose of the Director of Operations is to ensure the safety, compliance and fiscal responsibilities of the operation. Coach and grow the team in Customer First Foundation Principles through the Management Process. Exhibit the necessary leadership, analytical/decision making and managerial skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •

Complete understanding of Watco Foundation Principles with the ability to foster and instill this thought process to other team members. •
Full responsibility and oversight of the operations within the region. •
Coach and teach management team to lead, train and develop all team members through the management process. •
Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence. •
Participate in customer meetings to build relationships. •
Maintain and develop a safety culture among all Team Members •
Participate in and promote regional and/or corporate initiatives. •
Ensure that team members receive the proper training and tools to perform their jobs. •
Routine interface with accounting, maintenance, engineering and other support service teams. •
Routine communication and coordination with other corporate departments. •
Guide and direct management team in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization's products, services and People •
Direct the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on broad corporate goals and growth objectives. •
Measure and evaluate performance expectations. •
Oversee executives who direct department activities that implement the organization's policies. •
Implement programs that meet corporate goals and objectives. •
Create the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and its projected growth. •
Maintain a sound plan of corporate organization, establishing policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession. •
Develop and install procedures and controls to promote engagement and communication within the organization. •
Manage the smooth and efficient flow of communication and business information. •
Establish operating policies consistent with the chief executive officer's broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. •
Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Senior Vice President. •
Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all reporting team members are defined and understood. •
Ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.

Requirements

Position Requirements: •

Strong organizational and leadership skills for a multifaceted work environment. •
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written . •
Detail oriented, and team and customer focused. •
Ability to troubleshoot operational problems. •
Familiar with applicable Federal, State and Local regulatory agency requirements. •
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers. •
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge, above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor degree in related field and 5-10 years related experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team members, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and holding Team Members accountable; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; inventory software; internet software and order processing systems.
