PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the operation of a telephone answering service, answering a multi-line telephone for all doctor related and "on call" employee phone calls. Work involves responsibility for courteously, promptly and accurately receiving calls and delivering messages to doctors and calling to work "on call" employees as needed. Also provides several distinct clerical functions. Assists in training of other communication operators.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Previous telephone answering service and/or PBX experience is desired.

SPECIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Typing 50 WPM and general office skills. Telephone answering service skills. Ability to communicate with public in a prompt, efficient, courteous manner. Good speaking voice. Must be able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS KNOWLEDGE: Computers and other office equipment as it relates to the job. Safety equipment as it relates to the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
